Bonalu Festival

Bonalu is a Hindu festival and people worship goddess Mahakali. This festival is performed in Twin cities ie Hyderabad and Secunderabad. This festival is performed in the telugu month Ashaada Masa ie falls in the month of July/August.

Bonalu means Bojanam/meal in telugu to offer goddess Mahakali. Women prepare a sweet with Rice, milk and jaggery.

The festival history has started in 1813 in Hyderabad & Secuderabad regimental bazzar.
